Road transportation in Russia and the CIS

Project

In cooperation with Russian Railways Logistics, TRASKO took part in transportation of equipment for one of the Russian basketball clubs.

In December of 2019, TRASKO and Russian Railways Logistics transported sports floors, basketball backboards with counterweights as well as other equipment from Moscow to Kaliningrad. A set of shipping documents was prepared within the recommendations of TRASKO.

The delivery of the sports floor required special temperature conditions. TRASKO used its refrigerator truck to conduct the delivery. The rest of the equipment and inventory, which does not require special temperature conditions during transportation, was loaded into company’s tent semi-trailer. In addition to transportation, TRASKO was also responsible for customs processing of cargo and provided advice on preparing the necessary documents for customs transit.

Russian Railways Logistics interacted with the customer, organized the loading according to a pre-developed scheme, produced individual reusable packaging for sports equipment and provided the cargo with an accelerated border crossing.

An important condition was to carry out delivery in a short time period in order to link the transportation with the training schedule of the sports team and the EuroLeague games, which were scheduled for the end of December and the beginning of January. Taking into account the border congestion in New Year time as well as the high importance of sports events, the crews of the two trucks were reinforced with additional drivers to ensure timely delivery.

The equipment crossed two borders, the territory of Latvia and Lithuania, and was delivered to Kaliningrad in a three day period covered a distance of about 1,500 km. The customer was also provided with reliable, comprehensive and round the clock information about the progress of the transportation.

When the games over, the equipment was disassembled and loaded into the trucks. The trucks with the cargo left Kaliningrad on January 4. On January 9, the cargo was returned to Moscow.
